Bloom Energy will power the 1.3 million-sq-foot Danbury Fair Mall in Connecticut with a 750 kW Bloom Energy fuel cell system.

Bloom is working with Macerich real estate investment trust, which owns the shopping center.

The project was financed in partnership with Washington Gas Energy Systems and the Connecticut Low-emission Renewable Energy Certificate Program.

The Danbury Fair shopping center recently installed new energy efficient exterior LED lighting and a thermoplastic white reflective roof. In 2015, Danbury Fair will be adding in excess of over 400 solar panels to the central roof areas.

Bloom Energy says it has 18 projects installed or underway in the state of Connecticut.
